Women Who Served in Vietnam

Please take a few moments and read this article. I was only 6 years old when my father went to Vietnam. Thankfully and grateful that he came home in June 1968. What I didnt know was the large contingent of women who also served in Vietnam. This article describes the role, service, and heroism they played during this war where 58.000 men were killed and countless others came home maimed physically, and still today deal with the emotional scars.

Veteran’s Day…2019

american flag vets dayVeterans Day is a time for us to take a moment to pay our respects to those who have served. For one day, we stand united in respect for our veterans.

This holiday started as a day to reflect upon the heroism of those who died in our country’s service and was originally called Armistice Day. It fell on Nov. 11 because that is the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I. However, in 1954, the holiday was changed to “Veterans Day” in order to account for all veterans in all wars.

We celebrate and honor our Veterans for their patriotism, love of country and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good.

God bless each and every one of them and their families today and always.
